This has been a week of being where its AT, tip wise, this week. Thursday 28th November, I enjoyed a return to Under The Bridge, one of the finest venues in London, last night for the launch of RADAR events.
Anybody supporting hard working, musical promise is on the right track. The more successful entertainers that the UK has, is more good news for the nation’s economy, global reputation and most importantly, social well being.
RADAR is a showcase of recommended unsigned and just-signed talent. It is a collaboration between Music Week, ILUVLIVE and MusicConnex for the UK music industry. On the dance floor, a mix of scouts, publishers, producers were among those enjoying the variety of talent on the (great sound and lighting enhanced) stage. The event and artists were previewed at the new Radar channel on YouTube
Congratulations to all the musicians that got picked to be on the bill. It was a really well done production. Keep an eye on the RADAR YouTube channel for performance videos from last night’s event. In the mean time, some snapshots from the event;
Incidentally, this is a young lady called Naomi:
She was singing backing vocals for Essex rapper, Nick Brewer, but I wasn’t alone in really rating her.
Lianne Kaye (sweet, teen singer, songwriter) and the sunshine presence of Izzy Bizu.
The evening ended with two festival potential / massive-support-ready sets:
Aiden (a Lancashire lad with an engaging personality to match the massive beats, lights and presence that hooked me instantly. He wrote those songs only this year, and is on the right track) http://aidenmusic.com/
The Boxettes (“We make music using only our mouths” they say. Its an understatement, they’ll blow your mind). Rounded off the evening spectactularly. http://www.theboxettes.co.uk/
Both are going straight on #TheZineUK #futurepicks list for 2014. Wish we could time travel and enjoy it already.
Hats off to RADAR (the next event is on 5th March)
The Zine likes to tip and be tipped. This was an ace night out with Sarah of Synergie 16 and Adjei of Stigma Global. Their fingers are on the pulse, as ever.
